It was during summer vacation...in August.. right around the time that pic was taken below...that one of my docs lead me to believe i might not have cancer.

I had been diagnosed June 15th with adenoid cystic carcinoma. Just before vacation...a couple of weeks after my surgery on July 15th... my doc starts telling me that there is a good chance the tumor wasn't cancer at all and either way i wasn't going to need radiation.

I tried not to believe it...hell i didn't really believe it at all at first. I'd read too much on ACC not to know that it is weird and doesn't always look like cancer. It's a bit rare so it is not always recognized right away.

BUT... after 2 weeks on a beach in the sun and water it was too easy to start thinking maybe it wasn't cancer and to start thinking in the way you do when you think life will stretch on endlessly in front of you.

That was a big mistake because i came home to the reality of not only having cancer but needing radiation. I think that has had the worst effect on how i dealt with all this and i don't think i ever got back to where i was before they got my hopes up needlessly.
